Software or Hosted Solutions
IntelliSoftware offers a range of SMS solutions as Software packages or Hosted services. The decision to use a particular solution will depend on many factors, such as throughput of SMS messages, costs and practicalities. Both Software and Hosted solutions offer advanced features such as a 2-way Email Gateway and Programming interfaces.

ActiveSMS is a Software Package for providing SMS services. ActiveSMS will be installed on your computer or server. ActiveSMS can send and receive SMS messages using different SMS transports, the most common being GSM Modems or GSM Handsets.
Hosted solutions are provided by the IntelliSoftware Internet SMS Gateway. IntelliSoftware Hosted solutions provide 2-way SMS features over the Internet using standard Internet protocols such as SMTP(Email) and HTTP.

It is possible to use a combination of Software and Hosted solutions to gain the benefits of both. ActiveSMS can be used in conjunction with the IntelliSoftware Internet gateway to send message and a GSM Modem to receive SMS messages. This can be a cost effective solution when you require high capacity for sending messages, but expect lower volumes of inbound SMS messages.
