Hi,

i have succesfully sent an email to a mobile (SMS), but i unfortunately did not received an SMS reply despite the fact that the phone/modem i am using had received the reply. Meaning, the sms message had "stopped" somewhere along the outbound (SMTP).

any help, pls?

You can use the ActiveSMS Logging Features to find out where you message is being routed to (SMS->Email):

1) Open the ActiveSMS Console
2) Click on the Logging tab
3) Check 'Enable Incoming SMS Logging'
4) Click 'Setup Incoming Logging'
5) Check additional fields: 'Dest Id' and 'Dest Name'
5) Select Log to: Text File
6) Enter Log file name, e.g. 'C\IncomingSMSLog.txt'
7) Click OK
8) Click Apply

After running a test you can now open the 'C\IncomingSMSLog.txt' file to find out where your SMS->Email message is being routed.

thanks for the help. i've done all the steps you've said like 'enabling incoming SMS Logging', ticking additional fields: 'Dest Id and 'Dest Name' but when i looked the log name 'C\IncomingSMSLog.txt' i found out there was no 'Dest Id' and 'Dest Name'logged.

it just show only this: 639xxxxxxxxx,Test,24/08/07 08:34:19,1

is there something wrong in the way i installed the program? or is the trouble in my antivirus applications? i'm using AVG.

i reinstalled windows xp, had a clean install and also activesms. then i had the 'Dest Id' and 'Dest Name' checked. the incomingSMSlog.txt says that the mobile reply has been routed back to the originating email. but actually i have not received the message at my mailbox

i'm really desperate...pls. help???

Please try clicking the 'Test SMTP' button on the Email tab of the ActiveSMS Console.

You should recieve a test Email at the address specified you specified in the 'To Address' field.

yes sir, i can received in my mailbox this message 'This is a test email sent by the ActiveSMS Console.' but the thing i was wondering is that why would the mobile user's reply could not 'reached through' to the originating email address
