There is no limitation on the number of mobile users an email user can communicate with. However, a mobile user can only have one simultaneous conversation with a email user at any one time.
For example, the following simultaneous conversations are valid:
Email User <.> Mobile User
A <-----------------> 1
A <-----------------> 2
B <-----------------> 3
B <-----------------> 4
However, if Email User(B) starts talking to Mobile User(1), then all replies from Mobile User(1) will be routed to Email User (B), i.e Email User(A) will no longer receive replies from Mobile User(1).
